Motto Gakuensai : Regular Topics

What really is amazing with this game, is that you can more or less adjust and change the heroine's personality according to the topics you decide to discuss with the Prince of Tennis characters. And I've found - but I could be wrong as it has not been proven in any way - that certain topics moved towards certain criteria of personality. Thus here are the topics' list and related criteria, I've noticed, seem to develop more when picking a specific subject of conversation :

  • FESTIVAL : Devotion / Implication / Helpfulness
  • HOMEWORK : Diligence / Reliability / Seriousness
  • WEATHER : Observation / Inquisition / Simplicity
  • FRIEND : Compassion / Attentiveness / Care
  • DREAM : Projection / Gullibility / Fantasy
  • TENNIS : Interest / Sharing / Sportsmanship
  • BOOK : Curiosity / Intellect / Knowledgeability
  • MUSIC : Creativity / Privacy / Sensitivity
  • GAME : Playfulness / Cheerfulness / Competitiveness
  • FASHION : Coquettish / Neatness / Aestheticism
  • FOOD : Healthiness / Dynamism / Integrity
  • LOVE : Attraction / Proximity / Teasing
There are, indeed, factors you need to consider before picking certain topics; such as the affection level or the boys' relation with said topics. While, contrary to other Tenipuri dating sim games such as Doki Doki Survival in which you need to adopt the very same tastes of the characters in order to please them; in Motto Gakuensai, you don't especially need to be a perfect replica of the character to have them fall for you. Still, and it's important to keep that in mind, you need to share with them at least their strongest points, tastes and values.
For instance, let's take, say, Shishido. Shishido is hot-blooded, strong-willed, intense and obviously hard-working. If you decide to talk to him about games while he is not at all interested in them, certainly way too devoted to tennis to play them; then it won't do and it will probably be hard for you to get to bond with him. But on the contrary, if you decide to discuss about homeworks, then, being the serious person he is, he will more likely appreciate the meticulousness of temper it suggests.

Succeeding in a character's route, implies that you and them have enough common interests and criteria to stand on the same ground. The rest, well, is up to their very own personality and tolerance to differences. I've noticed some characters like Tooyama or Kurobane were less open-minded about enlarging their perspectives in matters of tastes or ways of being than characters like Inui or Choutarou who, contrariwise, were very open-minded and adapted their partner's differences well.
